Getting to Lille (Rijsel) by car was very easy from here. There’s a park right next door for a short walk, and a grocery store close by. The rooms are lovely, the staff are friendly, and it’s quiet.

The main drawback was finding somewhere to eat in the evening. The hotel doesn’t serve dinner, and the restaurant next door was shut both Sunday and Monday, with no sign saying when or whether it opens. On Sunday, the only open place nearby was a pretty average Chinese restaurant down the street, and on Monday everything seemed closed. Luckily, the supermarket a few doors away had snacks we could eat in our room. If we came again on a Sunday or Monday, we’d bring food. Still, this was a good value place to stop for two nights on a journey, and we’d stay again. The hotel looked clean and comfortable throughout, as was our room. We paid extra for the buffet breakfast, which was perfectly good. There was also free secure underground parking, entered from the side street after going round the block, plus electric car charging that was free at the time.

If you need to stay in this area, it’s a perfectly adequate business hotel. It’s clean, the staff are friendly, and breakfast has a nice spread. There’s a bar too, though when guests are around the concierge keeps running back and forth between the bar and reception. That’s about the extent of it, with no extra frills. There’s no restaurant, although there is a nice French restaurant across the driveway from the front door. No minibar either, and the location isn’t special. Fine for a practical stay nearby, but not somewhere I’d make a trip for.

***Update 18/01/2026 I left my phone charging cable in the USB socket beside the bed today. I was still in Lille for the afternoon when I noticed, so I called reception right away, but the cleaning staff hadn’t handed it in. After unpacking my luggage tonight, I still can’t find it anywhere, and I’m 100% sure I left it in that socket. So be aware, hotel staff will steal your things if you forget them there. Obviously, it’s my fault. The person I spoke to on the phone got defensive when I said someone must have taken it instead of handing it in. He kept saying he wasn’t working when I checked out, which had nothing to do with it. Disappointing, especially since there aren’t any real alternatives in the immediate area. The lights in the park are still just as bright, and the hotel clearly couldn’t do anything about them. Good luck sleeping if you get a room facing them. *** Original review I paid extra for a superior room on the park side because I really needed a good night’s sleep. Instead, a big fan just outside the window made extremely loud noise on and off both day and night, like a plane flying past. There was also a very powerful spotlight at the park entrance pointed straight at the window. It only went off at midnight, so until then the room was like daylight and the curtains were useless. I’d requested a quiet room away from the elevators when booking, but mine was right beside them. At checkout I raised all this very politely. Rather than thank me for the feedback, apologize, or offer some kind of gesture, the staff got defensive and gave me long explanations that wasted my time. They said “C’est pas nous,” because the fan belonged to the restaurant and the spotlights to the town hall. If you run a hotel where people pay to sleep, you’re responsible for making sure they can actually do that. If poor facilities stop them sleeping, the least you can do is apologize. There were other problems too. Nobody told me at check-in that the pet would cost extra. I was only told about the “taxe de séjour,” so the information was poor. And they disable your room card at 11:45 even though checkout is at 12. It made me feel VERY unwelcome, as if they were rushing me out. I was loading the car and got locked out of my room, then had to waste more time asking someone to reactivate the card. All in all, a very unpleasant stay with no customer service and no ability to listen to real problems that kept me from sleeping. This wasn’t a cosmetic detail. I don’t recommend it. I’m sure there are nicer, better trained people in the area who care about their customers’ experience. There were hairs in the shower and sink as well.
