Hotel Continental

I missed having a bidet in the bathroom, but I’d definitely come back. My room on the first floor was spotless and tidy, and it had a deck. I just wish there’d been people around to talk with. The hotel is one block from the grand Lourdes property.

The neighborhood gets really noisy, and the rooms don’t keep the sound out, so it’s not a quiet place to stay. They’re also quite small, with some odd bugs flying around the lights. The location is handy, only a five-minute walk from the sanctuary.

I regret choosing this hotel and don’t recommend it. The cleaners broke my Saint Mitchell Estatu, which I had got from Mount Mitchell two days earlier and which cost 80 Euros. I had asked them not to clean my room after the cleaner knocked and I opened the door, but they went in while I was out. When I complained to reception and the manager, they wouldn’t take responsibility. After the manager spoke to the cleaners, they came together and the cleaner even lied, saying she hadn’t understood and they hadn’t done it. As a religious person, I believe God will deliver justice when people lie.

It’s just a short walk to the entrance to Lourdes, and there are good places to eat across the street. There’s also an ATM on the way. Some first-floor rooms have an open balcony, and the hotel has a lift. The staff were friendly and knew their stuff. They even booked a taxi back to the airport for you.
