We took a group of students and teachers to Lourdes last week. The location worked especially well for arriving by train. Staff were wonderful, breakfast was just what we expected, and the rooms were as good as, or better than, what you’d expect from a two-star hotel.

I liked my stay here. The host was really friendly, and for this rate it’s a decent place. It takes about ten minutes to walk to the bus/train station and five minutes to the church. The rooms aren’t very soundproof, so someone might be disturbed at night. It didn’t bother me, though, since I sleep soundly.

The food and staff were the bright spots. The meals were delicious, the best I’ve had, and tasted properly homemade. The staff were extraordinarily friendly and helpful, the only reason I smiled during my stay. That’s why I’m giving two stars out of five. The room, though, was dim even with every light on, so we used our phone lights to check the dark corners before leaving. There was just one socket for both of us and all our devices. The soundproofing was awful, like there were no walls, and I could hear people across floors and rooms. Loud people on other floors kept me awake every night. The room was way too cold, and there was no way to turn on the heater. The bath plug didn’t work, so we couldn’t even take a warm bath to fight the cold and noisy neighbors. I hate to say it, but this was definitely the worst hotel room I’ve stayed in.

We were really happy with our choice. It’s an affordable place, so you can’t expect a super-luxury hotel, of course :) The staff were friendly, breakfast was okay, and it’s close to Lourdes’ main sights. I recommend staying here.

There’s no hotel parking, so you’ll need to find a space on the street. The hotel is close to attractions you can visit, and it’s good value for the low price. The rooms are small, though, and the walls are very thin. Our neighbors yelled and screamed until morning.
