Hotel Mediterranee

I couldn’t sleep because the walls are so thin. Adults downstairs were blasting music, and the toilets have no locks. The lobby was full of flies and ants, and there was a leak in the corridor on my floor. The cutlery wasn’t properly washed either, and my cups had food marks on them. The other guests were rude too. I took the lift with some friends and a selfish woman told us to leave it for older people, then said something like people like us were jumping around and breaking the lifts. I considered reporting her but didn’t. We’d booked an 11:00am check-in, but the room wasn’t ready. We had to go shopping while we waited, and didn’t get our rooms until around 2:00pm. What a joke. If you don’t speak French, using the TV will be a struggle. The rooms could be bigger, and could use a fridge, teacups and teabags. Breakfast also had very little food choice. Only stay here if you’re fine with rude guests, bugs, dirty cutlery and a sleepless night.

Lucia, Javier, Serge and the rest of the staff were amazing, so friendly and helpful. The rooms were great too. The air conditioning didn’t work perfectly in every room in our group, but everything else was just right. I especially appreciated the staff’s human touch.

The rooms are functional but small, and cleanliness could be better, especially in the bathrooms. The hotel has a safe parking area, and its shop was very helpful for visitors. Breakfast was a highlight, and the staff gave us a warm welcome. I liked the convenient location near Lourdes Church, which made it easy to explore the historic site and the surrounding area. With more attention to room size and cleanliness, Hotel Mediterranee could be an even more attractive choice in Lourdes.

No one helped with our luggage or wheelchair, and the hotel has few amenities. The restaurant is reservation only, and during our three days there we never got to try it. The front desk was often unattended, so we had to wait for someone to show up. They don’t offer a shuttle to the Sanctuary or airport. It’s about a 10 minute walk to the Sanctuary, but there are better hotels closer by with better rates. Hotel Alba next door was better for us, and we were able to eat at their restaurant.
