The beds were comfortable, there was hot water, and the staff were polite. But the room and building were full of poor, unfinished work. Cables hung off the walls in the room and stairwells, the corridor fuse box had no cover, and architraves were missing. Doors and fixtures were badly painted, and things seemed loose or poorly fitted. The shower had awful vinyl work, and its sliding door didn’t close fully or feel secure at the bottom. There was also a huge carpet stain in our room. The toilet was so small you couldn’t shut the door while using it, which isn’t nice for your partner to see. A cleaning trolley was left at the bottom of the stairs all night, so we had to climb over it coming and going. This is exactly why rooms should be refurbished by professional contractors. The work was poor and below standard. It’s a shame, because someone who cared could fix all this easily and cheaply. The place needs some love and attention. Calling it a three-star hotel is a stretch, especially with those safety issues.

For 50 bucks, what do people expect? It’s even cheaper than a backpackers’ place. Sure, it’s run down, but you get a comfy bed, hot water, a TV and an amazing view for what you pay. The location’s 10/10 too. If you don’t like it, try finding somewhere better at that price. Unlikely.

A very nice stay for a reasonable price, with a lovely couple running the hotel. I arrived super early, and the wife made me a cup of tea for free while I waited for my room. The husband helped me work out how to get the bus to the airport. My room was clean and comfortable.

Mourad was one of the highlights of my Lourdes trip. He makes sure guests from different countries and language backgrounds know the daily schedules, warms the rooms before winter arrivals and is great at handling special requests. He really goes out of his way to keep things running smoothly so guests can have a restful, prayerful time. The hotel is close to the Sanctuary and town, with a lovely river view. Beds were comfortable, and the rooms were quite nice for the price. The staff, especially Mourad, were friendly, well-mannered, attentive and helpful. Thanks for the great conversations, a lovely hotel stay and the amazing Kabylian Couscous. It was so delicious and thoughtful.
