10/10
The owners are friendly and accommodating. They answered all my questions about the hotel before and during our visit. My friend and I were there for four nights in June to bike around the area, and it's well placed for several classic mountain bike and road bike routes right from the hotel. We had a reasonably priced room that was more than enough for us. I can't remember exactly which type it was, but it had a private bathroom and shower, a queen bed, and a single bed. There's indoor storage for bikes or skis, and a small parking lot that never filled while we were there, though I can imagine it might during ski season. Great breakfast, good location, friendly owners. It was a great place and deserves the five stars.

The options nearby are limited, but I'd still suggest trying Airbnb or another hotel. There were insects in both the room and the bed, and one staff member was completely dismissive and rude. The hotel was a shambles. I wouldn't return even if you paid me.

The meals were very good, and the surroundings were amazing.

The rooms were roomy and pleasant, and the billiard room is open all day and night. Still, our room had no heat at all. With the temperature down to 2 degrees Celsius at night, we were freezing. The staff seemed unfriendly.

There are some lovely old features here, from the classic staircase and broad wooden floorboards to the cupboard and room doors. The building feels a little neglected, though, and most rooms are small and have no view. It was clean, and the reception staff were friendly when around, but reception was often unattended. I didn't think the price matched the quality.
