Great.

Check-in was easy, and the room has been nicely renovated with practical furnishings. The beds, though, are up steep ladders and have very little headroom. The neighborhood is run-down, like many parts of Lyon, and the entrance and stairwell are in similar shape and smell accordingly.
The two large beds are comfortable, but they sit on mezzanines rather than in proper bedrooms, with steep stairs and barely enough room to stand. It won’t work well for anyone with mobility issues. The apartment itself is clean overall, though a few bulbs don’t work, and parking on the street can be difficult. To avoid driving around for ages, head straight to the underground garage near the opera house. The apartment is in a quiet building on the slopes of Croix-Rousse, with attractive decor and a good location.
The apartment has plenty of character, and I really liked the bathroom sound system. But the noise was awful for much of the night: doors slammed and people shouted insults at us. There was no TV or internet, so we had to ask for a discount. In the morning, broken glass was scattered through the building and there was a smell of smoke, as if a tsunami had hit. Parking is a gamble, though we did find a monitored underground garage at the top of Croix-Rousse.
Everything was just right in this beautifully renovated, tastefully decorated apartment. It was clean and perfectly placed right by Place des Terreaux. The owner was friendly and quick to respond. We’ll definitely return!
