HOTELO Lyon Charité

The staff were friendly, though the old, quaint building could use some renovation. I stayed for two nights, and the location beside Perrache is very convenient for trains, trams, and buses. The surrounding area isn't the prettiest.

We had a lovely weekend and I'll definitely return. The hotel feels homely and has lovely decor, with friendly staff and a really good breakfast. It's also a great base for exploring the older part of the city, with plenty of restaurants nearby and lots of choice.

The staff were lovely and very helpful, and the location is great, right in the centre with easy public transport and lots of restaurants. The room was small, the furniture outdated, and the bathroom could have been cleaner. The toilet was mounted so high that, at 5.9, my feet didn't touch the ground. Breakfast was ok.

It's an easy location to get around from, though Perrache station can be confusing because the pedestrian signs are lacking. Keep that in mind if you're hauling suitcases. The rooms are tiny but functional, and the toilet bowl sits a bit too close to the walls. The shower pressure is great, though, and the friendly staff were helpful. The bed was a little soft but fine for a short visit. A fridge would've been nice. They ask you to leave your room key at reception when you go out, which means one less thing to carry, but the lack of in-room lockers may worry you if you have valuables. A pleasant stay.
