The staff found us a table straight away, even though lunch was busy, and were friendly throughout. I sat outside under the opening arches. The pork loin was tender, with potatoes and pepper sauce, and the Lyonnaise dessert was lovely too. I liked that it wasn't overly sweet. Delicious lunch, and I'd recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Lyon.

Lyna gave us such warm, attentive service, and the place has a real Lyon feel to it. The Saint-Jacques soufflé was excellent. The rum baba was unforgettable too, they served a whole liter of rum alongside it 😄. Wish everywhere were that generous. I'll definitely be back!

We came away feeling we'd found the real bouchon experience we wanted in Lyon. Le Mercière had a lively buzz, warm lights, and an atmosphere that felt rooted in the city's food culture. The servers were fast and efficient, but still charming and welcoming. The meal was rich and satisfying. We shared ravioli full of flavor, beautifully seasoned, fresh beef tartare, and a wonderfully cooked beef filet with a bottle of Beaujolais. We ended with a decadent profiterole. Every dish felt like the comforting traditional style Lyon does so well. Le Mercière delivered on the food, hospitality, and atmosphere, and it felt authentic rather than touristy. I'd recommend it to anyone visiting Lyon who wants a true bouchon meal.

Morgane, the head waiter, knew the allergy details well, and they also have an allergy chart. That was reassuring for the coeliac person in our group. The meal was fantastic, the staff were wonderful, and the service was incredible. We'd happily return.

We shared the baba au rhum, profiteroles, and pain perdu to finish, and every one was excellent. Before dessert, I tried a different take on soupe à l’oignon, with a raw egg and a splash of Porto. What a treat, easily one of the best onion soups I've had in a long time. The quenelle was another Lyon classic, rather like a savory soufflé, light and airy with a rich creamy sauce. Ours had lobster cream and a touch of spinach, a great combination. Highly recommended if you're ready to eat like a true Lyonnais.
