The elevator was out of order for my entire stay, and there was no sign showing where to go. I spent 30 minutes wandering around before eventually taking the stairs. I counted 13 steps, then 4, then 6, then 19, and after that another 14. Being in the central part of the city didn't help when I was afraid to leave and have to find my way back. I called the miHotel emergency line and Booking.com, but nothing was done. I felt trapped in the room. Getting there was already confusing. This is a code-access property, and the listing said there was an elevator. After a long, dark passage, you reach one, but then the directions send you through another passage, down half a floor on a spiral staircase of 12 steps, and up 9 steps to the courtyard, where there's another elevator. It was also inaccessible by car, with the closest accessible intersection 300m away. The lights flickered, the shower had no door despite signs one had been installed before, and the tissue box was empty. Booking.com did not help either. Never again.

MiHotel Vieux Lyon was a pleasure to stay at. The room had a lovely mix of comfort and style, and the location made it easy to explore the city. The whole experience impressed us and went beyond what we expected. We'd gladly recommend it to anyone visiting Lyon.

Check-in before 17:00 (5PM) cost €30, even though the hotel was almost empty. That was especially inconvenient for our family with kids during a lockdown, when everything in Lyon was closed. We had paid for four breakfasts, and our hotels.com confirmation showed all four, but they delivered only two. When I called, they were very rude, and no one picked up until 10 a.m., well after breakfast time. The staff were rude, the place felt overpriced, and the hotel seemed to put its own convenience ahead of paying guests. I don't recommend it and won't return.

The unit was a great size and well maintained, in a very good location. This company adapts apartments to hotel standards, and the result is better than a typical hotel room. It's a nice choice for someone who doesn't need many hotel services but values a good room.
