The room was quiet and everyone staying in it was respectful. Beds were comfortable, the place was generally clean, and the staff were lovely and helpful. The location is great too, only a two-minute walk from the tram stop. I’d recommend it.

The people working here really made the stay special. Everyone was kind, friendly, and helpful, and Myriam stood out as a caring, generous, welcoming host who knew her stuff. Thanks to the HO36 staff for making my time in Lyon memorable. The hostel is easy to get to and quiet, and the rooms and beds are comfortable, clean, and spacious. I’d give it my highest recommendation.

The cafe and bar downstairs has a nice, lively feel, and was a good place to hang out, read, or work. There seemed to be a good mix of guests and locals, and there are some great food spots nearby. The rooms were clean and the beds comfy. It’s not right in the centre, but close enough to walk around. I was out until midnight or 1am a couple of nights and never felt unsafe. Honestly, I thought it was a pretty great hostel. I can’t speak to anyone else’s experience, but some negative comments may come from expecting a hotel in the old town. For a relaxed hostel with good vibes, this is a decent option.

The cafe downstairs is ideal if you need to get some work done. A great hostel and, for a nomad spending time in Lyon, my top spot. I’d definitely recommend the Boulangerie one block away.
