Logis Hotel Aux Maisons

The food often didn’t seem fresh to me, which was a shame. The place has potential as a restful getaway, but the hours for using the pool, spa, and other facilities were so limited that we couldn’t really use them. The bedrooms aren’t luxurious or especially modern, which I understand, but the furniture is old and the bathrooms could use a makeover and look cleaner. I visited during the last Champaign weekend.

The restaurant keeps delivering. The menu isn’t huge, but the food is fresh and delicious, and the cheese trolley has a great, generous selection. Staff are friendly and attentive. We love this place for the excellent food, service, and wine list, and it’s a bonus that dogs are allowed.

The pool area looks extremely well presented, but check the bill: we were charged for the jacuzzi even though it was advertised as included for hotel guests. The owner removed the charge without any trouble. The restaurant food was delicious, breakfast excellent, and the catering went beyond what I expected. Some staff were friendly and others less so. Our room was clean and as described, though getting to it meant walking through a function room. This hotel ticks a lot of boxes, and I’d definitely recommend it.

A comfortable hotel, and the food is worth making a detour for.
