The staff were nice and honest, the price was cheap, and the other residents seemed nice. Those were the only positives for me. I booked a non-refundable stay, but honestly, please think carefully before coming here. I usually stay in cheap hotels and have found them clean and hygienic, so I was shocked by this place. I had to leave a few days before my booking ended. I saw cockroaches in the room, and bed bugs in the room, on the bed, and even on the kitchen towel they provided. My head felt itchy afterward, and I saw bugs on clothes I’d worn there. The bedding and towels were stained and had holes, and there were insects too. The shower floor was horribly dirty, and hygiene and cleanliness felt far below acceptable. I didn’t feel safe leaving my belongings in the room, or carrying them around the area. There were strange people nearby, and Roma gypsies beside the hotel played loud music. There wasn’t much to do nearby besides a huge graveyard, railway tracks, and a few shops related to the cemetery. The building looks like an old hospital turned into a hotel dormitory. It reminded me of Toulon, which is gorgeous and has much better accommodation. There was no AC. If you do stay, I’d say braid your hair to avoid lice or other bugs, bring disposable cutlery and cups, and even your own towel and bedding. Keep your bags zipped so nothing crawls inside, and wash the floors with the mop supplied in the room.

We got a room for 50 euros a night with two single beds, so it was really good value. The room was clean, tidy and warm, with towels provided. Reception staff were very friendly and even printed our flight tickets. I’d been hesitant because the reviews were mixed and our hostel booking had fallen through at the last minute, but I was pleasantly surprised. It felt more like an AirBnB than a hotel, since we had to take out our own rubbish. It’s not very central, so we took the train and tram from the city centre, which wasn’t a big deal for us. Reception is only open at certain times, though, and that caused some inconvenience. For example, we couldn’t arrive after 8pm to collect our keys on the first night.

The vending machines were great, with pretty much everything available, and the washing machine and dryer worked well. There isn’t a nearby store, but with a little planning it’s manageable. Bus and tram stops are close, and service is frequent and fast. We stayed for three nights and were very happy. The rooms were nice, clean and spacious, and had no bed bugs. We were skeptical after reading the reviews, but that wasn’t our experience. Our room faced the backyard, so the neighborhood felt nice and quiet. I’d definitely recommend it.

It was very hot in our room, and we had no hot water for a whole day. There were also lots of mosquitoes. The area felt “bad,” though the tram was close by. I wouldn’t recommend the experience, not even to poor students like me.

The reception staff were really kind, and the studio was spacious. It was pretty clean during our one-night stay, despite all the bad reviews. There was no AC, but I’d definitely come back.
