Marseille has some beautiful spots in nature, but this was the worst trip I've ever had. I won't come back. I rented a room for three months and paid nearly 1,200 in cash upfront. After just a week, I suddenly couldn't get into the building, even though I was using the door code they'd given me at the start. I called the police, who were very kind and reported the people involved. They helped me get my suitcase, but my cash was gone. I'd trusted them and hadn't asked for a receipt proving I'd paid. I've traveled a lot, and this sort of thing doesn't happen every day or everywhere. The French police told me to be careful in Marseille, saying it was a bit noisy and that honest people were hard to find there. I was shocked to hear that from the police. I told them nothing like this would happen in Norway, where I'm from.

I had a reservation, but Vinh-ky greeted me with condescending comments that there was no room for foreigners. He then slammed the door in my face and left me outside, despite the booking. I'm disappointed and honestly speechless about what I experienced as xenophobic remarks. I'm at a loss over people like this. He is a foreigner himself, and it was obvious to me that he isn't French, let alone European. He comes from Asia, and that was the culture I encountered. It's sad how poor some people are.

We've stayed twice, and both visits were perfect. The owners really try to make you enjoy your time in Marseille. The apartment feels pleasant and the rooms are welcoming. Definitely a place worth visiting!
