We first stayed with Sylvie at La Devinie after our family had been coming to Martel for decades. We can't wait to bring more family members back, and we'll happily return again and again. The location makes it easy to walk everywhere in Martel, a gem of a town with good sites, restaurants and shops, plus plenty of life. It’s also near lots of incredible castles and charming villages. Sylvie has created a gem, with a lovely eye for mixing traditional and contemporary, old and new. The rooms are spacious and beautiful, with large bathrooms and showers, and a chic style. Breakfasts are incredible, made with care and kindness. The living spaces and garden are generously sized and beautifully looked after.

Martel is a great location, and the breakfast was delicious. The house is beautiful and decorated with exquisite taste. My bedroom was big and comfortable, and the bathroom was very nice.

What a wonderful memory. The welcome was so warm, and the cottage is magnificent and spotlessly clean, with splendid decor. Sylvie was incredibly kind and attentive to every detail. Breakfast was homemade and exceptional. I wholeheartedly recommend the place.

Breakfast was served in a beautiful modern kitchen, with coffee, cakes, fresh orange juice and pie, all homemade. I highly recommend a short stay here. The house is superb, in peaceful historic countryside and very well maintained. The owner is charming, always smiling, and attentive to her guests. My room was magnificent and very spacious, with a television, a private modern bathroom, Wi-Fi and heating, which was very important in winter.

Sylvie made us feel so welcome at La Devinie, and her homemade breakfasts were a treat every day, with scones, gluten-free waffles, fresh fruit, breads, and freshly squeezed orange juice. She grew up in the area and knows so much about the beautiful, magical Dordogne region. The house and garden are thoughtfully decorated, and it all feels like a little paradise. We’re so glad we found it and hope to come back with friends and family. Thank you for such a lovely stay!
