Hotel Chez Marion

I never made it past reception, so there's not much more I can say about the hotel itself. Two months earlier, I'd exchanged emails with the manager/owner and had a reservation, but when I arrived, the hotel had no record of it and no rooms left. The receptionist tried to help and spoke much better English than my basic French, which I appreciated. But the poor admin system let her down, and she seemed more interested in deflecting blame. After 45 minutes, I left, vowing to myself never to return. Luckily, my family and I have a house 80km away, so we weren't left sleeping on the beach. Still, it meant a wasted 160km and a few hours. Take this as a warning: don't trust a reservation email, especially one from the manager. It's a real shame. The town looked lovely, and a couple of days at the beach before our ferry home would have made the holiday perfect.

Breakfast set us up for a great day, and the sea view room was a real highlight. We booked a very last-minute weekend break from Paris, and everything was perfect. Special mention to the people working at the hotel. The gentleman at reception is so polite and really goes above and beyond. Thoroughly recommend!

The only good thing was being near the sea. The owner, Mr., was arrogant and rude, and although the staff were pleasant on the first day, their mood was much worse on the other days. Wifi didn't work for half the week. I was very disappointed by the really bad service. If you want a peaceful, relaxing vacation, choose another hotel. I can't recommend Chez Marion.

Friendly young staff, and a lovely, peaceful hotel in a great location close to the beach.
