B Hotel Caen Mondeville

We keep coming back because the hotel is in a perfect spot for our visits. The staff are kind and really helpful. This year there was a problem with my credit card and the reservation got cancelled, but one call to the hotel sorted everything out.

Breakfast was cheap, but really bad, and I wouldn't stay here again. The room was tiny, with a TV about 17 inches and no blackout curtain. The shower and toilet shared one cramped plastic room, and its sliding door didn't work. My key card also failed, though luckily reception was open to fix it. There were lots of trucks in the parking lot and plenty of noise. I could hear people walking, moving chairs and using the toilet on the first and second floors.

For the price, the compact room has what you need, and getting on the motorway is easy. Check-in was friendly. Bring earplugs, though, because the nearby truck park gets noisy overnight.

The reception lady was very abrupt and could do with better customer service. The walls don't block much sound, so you hear noise from the other rooms. The room itself was okay, but you get what you pay for.
