B&B HOTEL Auxerre Monéteau

The bed was really comfortable, and being able to book from 2 pm even when reception was closed was a lovely surprise. When you're exhausted, not having to wait until 4 pm to check in is a big plus. The hotel is easy to find on an industrial estate near the motorway, with a Lidl next door and a very good buffet restaurant across the road. There's also a hypermarket, petrol station, coffee shop, and bakery further along. We were there in early November and found plenty of parking. Our car and trailer were over 40 feet long and fitted in the large car park. I'd check parking availability in high season. It's a no-frills place with a clean room for the night. The only downside was the hallway, which needs painting and new carpet.

I've stayed at B&B Hotels in Germany before, and this Auxerre one was just as good as I'd hoped. For a great price, we got a restful night on good bedding, a strong, clean shower, and a decent breakfast in a pleasant atmosphere with welcoming hosts. The hotel feels updated and modern. Definitely the right choice, and I'd recommend it.

The room was very basic, which would have been fine, but there were cobwebs around the windows and a spider up in a ceiling corner. The bathroom had a musty smell, and the broken tap sent water splashing everywhere. Breakfast also felt very low-cost. I wouldn't recommend staying here for more than one night.

Good value for a budget stay. The rooms were spacious and clean, the automatic check-in was easy, and there was a hot shower and good air conditioning. It's right by the A6 but stayed quiet. We skipped breakfast. It looked alright, but £7 per person seemed too expensive.
