Castel Bois Marie

The outdoor area was great, with room for kids to play, shaded tables, and a salt pool. The rooms were quiet enough overall, and breakfast was okay, but there were a few problems. Our third-floor room smelled bad around the toilet room, although the toilets themselves were clean. Maybe it’s a design issue. We could also hear every drop our neighbors flushed. There wasn’t enough dried ham for everyone at breakfast, and the prunes in the self-serve box were old and had a white substance on them. Staff replaced them quickly once we mentioned it. Because of the heat, the air conditioner had to stay on all night, and its bright blue light lit up the whole room, making it hard to sleep comfortably. There’s plenty management could improve.

The domaine is surrounded by vegetation, so it feels really secluded. Axelle and her family have done justice to their beautiful family home by converting it into a hotel. The rooms are gorgeous, with luxurious details throughout. I wish I’d tried breakfast, as it looked really good. We stayed one night, but I could imagine enjoying a few days away here.

The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and modernised, with plenty of the family’s antique furniture and ornaments still in them. It’s a beautiful 19th Century house with large park-like grounds and a big outdoor pool. Axelle was charming, attentive to everything we needed, and a great communicator. Breakfast was good, too. It feels like a mini chateau for the price of a cheap hotel. We were there for only 2 days and will stay longer next time.

The rooms are nicely decorated, and I slept like an angel. The pool tucked into the park-like garden was wonderfully refreshing. My dinner was tasty and freshly prepared, and breakfast was fresh, healthy, and nicely laid out in the garden lounge. Montauban has a nice historic center, and Toulouse is nearby. A really cool place for an overnight stay or a couple of days.
