Brit Hotel Bristol Montbéliard

We'd had a very long drive, and the hotel was mostly empty, so we asked for the best room. A quiet one would have been appreciated after all those hours on the road. Room 101 wasn't soundproof at all. We could hear footsteps in the hall and on the stairs, along with chatter outside the room, both street-side and in the hallways. I wouldn't stay here again.

The hotel sits right in the middle of a fun little French town with lots of sidewalk cafes, and staying there is an experience in itself. There is also a great full breakfast, a swimming pool, and a sauna. The rooms are perfectly acceptable if you don't mind them being small and multifunctional, with the shower and bathroom in the same room. This is a real European three-star hotel, so you won't find many Americans here.

The staff speak English and are willing to help with requests. When the shower wasn't hot enough, they agreed to move us to another room. The room's decor is very cute, and it's cleaned every morning, though they don't change the sheets. The location is great, very close to the Christmas market. The heating leaves the room cold, so you'll need socks and a sweater indoors.

The room was clean, and the facilities were great, including the sauna and pool. But the soundproofing in room 151 was horrible. I could hear everything happening next door. That really needs to be improved.
