Hotel Mercure Saint Quentin En Yvelines Centre

Breakfast was fresh and good, and the hotel is handily placed near the station. My room was comfortable and clean, and the staff were friendly whenever I needed help. I had a pleasant stay and would definitely recommend this B&B hotel.

The service could have been better. During my five nights, my room was cleaned just once, and some reception staff didn't speak enough English to help sort out problems. The car park under the hotel also won't work for vans, only cars. The room itself was spacious and clean, and breakfast tasted good. The location is the strong point, right by the station with plenty of shops and restaurants close by.

I reported everything to reception, but 24 hours later nothing had changed. There was a loud machine noise with vibrations in the room that kept me awake, and although technical faults can happen, the hotel's response was not adequate. The room was also poorly cleaned. The floor hadn't been cleaned, there was a thick coating of dust on some shelves and furniture, and only half a roll of toilet paper had been left.

Sleep was impossible all night, even with noise-cancelling. I was on the sixth floor, where an extremely loud noise started every 15 minutes and lasted for 15 minutes. They said it was a compressor on the roof, but nothing was done. Several people complained and didn't get any help. Worst hotel experience.
