Coeur Urbain Apartments - Gare Comedie

A big, lovely apartment, and it was clean.

There are two comfortable bedrooms, but the living room has no window, and one sofa bed came with a dirty duvet. The neighborhood felt dangerous, and the Covid measures weren't followed. The worst part was the lack of soundproofing between our apartment and the neighboring unit, which was rented by the same landlord. They should have insulated the two units better. At 2:30 am on the first night, the neighbors were laughing and playing music loudly. It was unbearable. The second night there was a party with lots of drunk young people, and the Covid measures still weren't being respected.

The room never got cleaned during our six days there. The floor seemed dirtier each day, the trash stayed put, and the sheets were very dirty but weren't changed. We had to ask for fresh towels, then keep insisting before they were replaced. The toilet had no air freshener, and there was a washing machine but nowhere to hang clothes. We were given the keys at 3:50 PM instead of 3:00 PM. In room 1, we heard other guests coming and going and slamming the door, as well as street noise through the very poorly insulated windows. The other guests played loud music every day and had drinks, drugs, cigarettes, and other things in the shared areas. When we texted a request, the reply was just “OK,” with no greeting or courtesy. That was unacceptable customer service.

A really good base for a stay.
