We were curious about the online setup and the lack of staff, and it did feel more like an AirBnB. The room was quite small but cozy enough for one night. We missed the detail that the “Octave” room has a bathtub instead of a shower, which wasn’t ideal since we’re shower people. The rest was really nice: little Madeleines, both sparkling and still water as complimentary water, and emails with information that always arrived on time.

We had a nice view from the outdoor terrace and enjoyed the room once it was ready. The bed was comfy, the shower warm, and the room had been cleaned well. The lady I spoke with, the cafe owners next door, and the cleaner were all friendly and helpful. The hallways didn’t smell, despite what another review said. It’s run digitally, with no check-in desk, so it feels more like an Airbnb than a hotel. I got the access code early and assumed I could enter early too, but that wasn’t the case. For the price, it was worth it, and I’d stay again if I needed somewhere clean, comfortable, and central in Montpellier.

The room and bed linens smelled unpleasant and musty, and I found a long dark hair in the bathroom. Other reviews had already mentioned cleanliness, but the hotel still hasn’t fixed it. The finishings were poor, the door lock felt unstable, and staff knocking kept disturbing me. Soundproofing was unacceptable. Check-in wasn’t quick, and communicating with the staff member was frustrating and time-consuming. Their replies were rude and incomplete. It may look nice at first glance, but the claimed star rating doesn’t seem deserved. The terrible odors and lack of cleanliness are unacceptable in any hotel. I demand a refund or a thorough inspection to address these serious concerns. This was utterly disappointing.

The room wasn’t clean, and there was hair from previous guests all over the bathroom floor. There was a bad smell in the hallways, and I heard a noise every time someone upstairs used water. Staff at the cafe next door were very rude. You get one bottle of water each when you arrive, with no refill. The inconvenient check-in and rude welcome were only the start of a terrible stay. I know the accommodation is cheap, but after all those suspiciously glowing 5-star reviews, I expected more. Avoid this hotel and book elsewhere for your own good.
