Bring towels, food, and your own coffee or tea: towels cost 25 euros extra, and none of the drinks are provided. The kitchen means you can cook, which I’d recommend since the restaurants felt pricey for their quality. The supermarket has limited decent options, mostly junk food, and no ovens are available. You’ll also need to make your bed when you arrive and clean up before checkout, including bagging the sheets and taking out the kitchen and bathroom bins. The heating in our cottage didn’t work, so mornings and evenings were cold, though you can use the fireplace. Wood costs 10 euros for about 1kg and burns in around an hour and a half. Many of the better activities cost extra and can add up. Still, if you arrive prepared, you can have a great time. It’s a beautiful, quiet place for families, with deer around the cottages, lots for kids and adults to do, and dogs allowed for an extra charge.

The one thing that affected our week was the lack of air conditioning in the lodges, especially during the exceptionally hot weather. The facilities reminded us of a UK Center Parcs, and staff were cheerful and helpful. It’s a lovely spot in the Loire, with plenty to see and do nearby, and we had a good week.

The deer wandering around gave the park a special feel. We’ve just returned from an amazing holiday and had the best time. It’s our favorite park we’ve visited in Europe, and we’ll definitely come back. Great for families. If it’s within your budget, hiring an e car makes getting around much easier.

The rooms were good, but the family spa was so cold at 25c, including the hammam and sauna. I wouldn’t pay extra for the family spa facilities. It felt like a scam.
