Moussoulens is a wonderfully quiet village, about a 15-minute drive from Carcassonne, with other interesting places fairly close by. It was a pleasure staying in this rustic, charming house, which gives you a feel for peaceful village life in France. Jean-Christophe sent plenty of local information and suggestions ahead of our visit, and the amenities matched the description. We had everything we needed, including a modern shower with strong pressure and lots of hot water. There’s a lovely boulangerie nearby and a grocery store, while the closest supermarket is about a seven-minute drive away. The loft bedroom can heat up in hot weather, so run the air conditioning for a while to cool it down. Jean-Christophe was a pleasant, courteous host. We’d definitely return to the beautiful Languedoc region.

The mezzanine was so comfortable that we slept like babies. We spent a wonderful Christmas week in this gîte in quiet Moussoulens. The amenities were enough for us, and having a dishwasher saved a lot of work. Thank you.

The village is quiet and well placed for sightseeing, which were the good points. The apartment itself was dirty, smelled musty and damp downstairs, and seemed poorly maintained and dated. There was no in-person check-in or inventory. There was no ventilation system, and the smoke detectors weren't connected. The air conditioning moved air but didn't cool the place, especially in temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius. Some of the dishes were broken or damaged.

The beds were comfortable, and the accommodation had good equipment. The air conditioning was very welcome in the hot weather. I recommend Jean-Christophe's gîte.
