B&B Hotel NANTES Parc Expos La Beaujoire

There was no way to call what we slept on a bed. It was a hardboard base with a mattress no more than 5 cm thick. I reckon a prison bed would be more comfortable. We barely slept all weekend and went home exhausted. The advert showed fruit, but none was provided. False advertising! We were also refused breakfast on the first morning because we hadn’t booked it in advance, even though there was plenty out. Unbelievable for a hotel. Never again!

The room was very clean, the bed just right for me, not too soft, and the heater worked. The furniture was useful too. There wasn’t an electric kettle, but at this room price that was probably okay. I personally prefer the coded door entry to a key or card. Our two-person room’s bathroom door had no inside lock, which some people might find a problem. You need a 5-10 minute walk for different things from this location. Reception and the lobby weren’t staffed all the time, but the staff were helpful when we called or met them.

The room was clean, the staff very nice, and the facilities good, though not great. We had a TV but no electric kettle. The kitchen closes at 9 pm, so getting hot water can be difficult. There is hot water in the bathroom, but nowhere to boil something. I’d suggest putting a kettle in every room, which would help everyone. Breakfast was good enough. You need to tell the hotel the night before if you want it, which seems reasonable. There’s a parking lot with a charger for electric cars. Some other parts of the city are about 1 km away on foot, which was fine for me. There’s a nearby Carrefour, but getting there isn’t straightforward. There may be a way through a gate near ibis hotel, though I’m not sure it’s always open. Google sometimes gives odd routes.

The room was clean, and there were plenty of spaces in the parking lot. Still, for a booking for two, I would have expected two towels rather than one.
