Hotel de la Cité

The rooms are compact, but worked perfectly for our long weekend. We had a light breakfast at the hotel once, which was adequate, and used the bar each evening, which was very nice. The hotel is conveniently placed for walking around Nantes. Everything felt clean and new, and every staff member was friendly and helpful. I loved staying here and would recommend it.

The lobby was nice, the place was very clean, and the people were absolutely wonderful. But my single room was next to the elevator and quite noisy, with other general noise in the building keeping me awake. When I tried the AC, it pumped air that smelled of cigarettes into the room. I suspect there may be a ventilation problem. I couldn’t open the window either, because that triggered a light to come on. Great labour, but poor quality capital.

We chose this hotel for our anniversary and couldn’t be happier. Our superior double room with a terrasse facing the courtyard was beautiful. It’s small, but designed so well that it feels bigger. Everything was super clean, and the shower can be exposed, though there’s a door for privacy. The soap and cream smell DELICIOUS, I wish I could bottle them as perfume! The staff were friendly and accommodating. Most attractions and good restaurants are a 5-20 minute walk away. I really felt we were at the nicest hotel in the area. THANK YOU Hotel de la Cité for making our anniversary and my first trip to Nantes so special. I’ll definitely stay here again if I come back. 😍

We enjoyed spending evenings outside in the courtyard with drinks and light snacks. It was very pleasant. The staff were extremely helpful, and the room was just right for the two of us during our two-night stay. The hotel is in an office area near the river, and a reasonable walk from the station. The regular breakfast is generous in both quality and quantity, which explains the price. The express breakfast is bare bones but good value. Thank you.
