All the attractions were within walking distance, and it was a good place for us to stay before heading to Paris for our flights back to Australia. We're two Aussies in our 70s, and this worked really well for our eight nights at the end of June 2024, after two months travelling around Europe by train. It is an old place, for sure, but there was a lift, good breakfast every day, great staff, a comfy bed, and a hot shower. It ticked all the boxes for what we needed. Rooms are all different, and ours at the back was quiet enough for us to leave the window open at night without traffic noise.

The mattress felt like it had been around since Napoleon, and there was a damp smell, grime, and a blinking emergency light in the corridor. The photographer deserves a promotion for making this place look good. If you fancy feeling like you're in a horror film, go ahead.

The location was good, but we arrived an hour after check-in and our room still wasn't ready. We waited for another room, which wasn't ready either and wasn't very clean.

The staff were friendly and helpful, but the rooms are basic and the bathrooms small. The place needs refurbishing and pest control. There were birds of all kinds everywhere. The coffee machine was broken, and having a bar for emergencies would be better.

The welcome really made my stay. Reception is open around the clock, and the staff were always there to answer questions. I was greeted with a huge smile every time, which can really brighten your day. Thanks again for that. I stayed five nights on vacation. The room was roomy, quiet, and nicely decorated, and the bathroom was clean and practical. The air conditioning was a real plus in summer, especially with traffic outside, though thankfully the street quieted down at night. It's a well placed hotel, about a 15-minute walk from the train station, with public transport close by and the city center easy to reach. Breakfast was good enough for the price, though the range of choices varied surprisingly from day to day. I'd recommend it for a short or longer stay. Wishing the hotel all the best!
