We chose dinner in the wine cave, and the food, prepared with vegetarian preferences in mind, and the wine were both a delight. What an experience. Breakfast the next morning was a delicious spread and a lovely start to the day, though we only had one night. I'd come back to Niort just to stay at L’Hotel Particulier du 12 again. Chris, the proprietor, was so helpful throughout, from reservations and our stay to guiding us through the busy city at rush hour and suggesting sights. From our first contact to checkout, everything felt like a five-star experience. The building has been expertly renovated throughout. The public rooms are gorgeous, elegant and comfortable, and the spacious guest rooms have large, comfortable beds and stylish, clean bathrooms. It's a very special place that stays with you.

Chris's wife is an amazing textile artist. I liked her work so much that I bought two pieces. Chris and his family also made us feel comfortable and looked after our every need, sharing local delicacies, drinks, stories, and places to visit. The venue is a stunning, impeccably refurbished 19th-century French townhouse in lovely Niort. If you're in the region, book a stay. I was in a rush and regretted not having another night. I strongly recommend this bed and breakfast, and I'll return to the area because of Chris and his family.

The house, rooms, location, dinner, and breakfast were all fantastic. The host was attentive and interesting. I can't think of anything else to say. I'd recommend staying here to anyone. 11/10!

Chris, Frédérique, and Lou gave us a magnificent welcome at L'hôtel Particulier du 12. We felt right at home, and the room was large, warm, and comfortable. Dinner and breakfast were both great, shared with our hosts. The 19th-century house has been beautifully refurbished, with lovely period pieces and furnishings. There's a magnificent private garden, a warm living room with fireplaces and a bar, and a beautiful cave for wine tastings. First class all the way, highly recommended, though that hardly needs saying. Thank you again for having us, and all the best. Johann
