The buildings are the kind of special that could almost belong at a UNESCO site. They’ve been beautifully preserved, and sleeping in the old houses of generations of wealthy families, with stables and live cows in the neighboring buildings, made for an experience I can’t really put into words. Go see it for yourself. The village location is outstanding, and we found it amazing. While you’re staying there, visit the Kaiser Wilhelm II Fort. I’d also recommend Ergersheim for wine tasting, about a 20-minute drive away.

The proprietor said they were still working on a lobby and a larger room for weddings and similar events. It would be a beautiful place for a wedding party. We only spent one night here, but really hope to return. Our room was spacious and had air conditioning, which was a relief during the heatwave. The mix of the genuine antique building, furniture and closets with modern design worked perfectly, with a good eye for detail. It was one of the most beautiful hotel rooms we’ve stayed in. There’s a small pool for kids and a garden where you can sit, read, or play. Breakfast isn’t a big European spread, but it’s a nice local one with very tasty things.

It was fascinating to explore the farmhouse and uncover its hidden details, and the historic building itself left us amazed. The bedrooms were comfortable, and the place is a great spot to unwind. Strasbourg’s historic center is only 20 minutes away, which made the location especially appealing. An unforgettable stay in a unique place.

We took a tour of the grounds and loved the place as a wedding venue. Breakfast was exquisite: fresh local breads and croissants, cakes, juices, teas and coffees, homemade jams, cheeses and meats. I’d have paid twice as much for the experience. Our upstairs suite had a power shower and bathtub, and I didn’t want to leave. The rooms are exquisite, with lovely detail and taste, and they were elegant, clean, comfortable and practical. Catherine, the manager of this charming 17th/18th-century hotel, made our stay even more special with her warm welcome and friendliness. She made us feel completely at ease, and I’d stay again because of her.
