The food was the standout for us. We tried two kinds of Flammkuchen, onion pie, and Spätzle, and everything was beyond expectations: well prepared, nicely presented, and delicious. We went to Schnigaloch because it looked cosy from outside. It was full the first day, so we booked a table for the next. Since it was raining, we sat inside the very cosy, original restaurant upstairs on the first floor. There were three of us and two dogs, and we got a warm welcome in German for me and English for my partner. Service was friendly, smiling, and quick. The best food we've had in the area. An absolute must when you're in town. PS, we didn't stay at the hotel.

The room was warm and comfortable, and the price felt very fair. It’s an old, beautiful building in a great location, though it doesn’t offer the luxuries of a more commercial hotel. The main downside for us was the Wi-Fi in our room. I could barely get a signal unless I stood by the door. It worked fine in the other parts of the hotel. We really enjoyed our stay.

The wine blends were excellent, but service was a struggle. There was just one waitress and she was practically running around. I waited ages for a second glass, then had another long wait before I could get the bill.

The food felt very traditional, which I really liked. The restaurant’s crowd seemed mostly a bit older, too. I reckon it’s the best restaurant in town, and its tart flambée is among the best in Obernai, though I’ve had a better one elsewhere.

The food in the restaurant was really tasty, and most of the staff were very friendly. The building looks picture perfect from the outside, but inside the rooms feel very dated, and ours had a strange smell. The price was good, though, and the shower water was hot.
