Hôtel Arcu Di Sole

I like it here and would definitely recommend it, unless you're after useless luxury. It's a relaxed, very nice, clean place, and our little house is really charming. The staff are friendly. It has a funny old-fashioned feel, like louis de funes might come around the corner any moment. We've paid more for worse places.

The dogs were welcome for free, which was a real plus for us. At breakfast, the hotel's three little dogs often kept us company, and we found that really sweet. The staff were friendly and genuine, with no formality. This isn't a luxury stay, just a simple, welcoming place with good value, and a handy base for exploring this part of Corsica with your dog. We stayed at Hotel Arcu di Sole in the Propriano area in August. It's in a quiet spot, with free parking just across the road. The pool was clean each morning, and there was mini golf, a ping-pong table, and a pretty garden in front of reception. The peaceful atmosphere and sea view made it pleasant. Our room was simple but practical, with a large bathroom that was always very clean. General room cleaning was a bit more basic, but adequate. There's no air conditioning in the rooms, but we didn't miss it: the area gets a good breeze and stays comfortable even in midsummer. The bathroom also had a handy hairdryer. There are lots of swallow nests on the building fronts and terraces. It was lovely to watch them flying around, though they did leave some traces on the balconies. Breakfast cost 12 euros per person. It wasn't a huge spread, but had what we needed: croissants, cakes, yogurt, bread, jams, ham, cheese, eggs, and hot or cold drinks.
