Le Château de Laplaud

The kitchen needs work, especially the main fridge. When we were there for a wedding in May 2025, it still wasn't working. The smaller fridge and freezer did, but that fridge couldn't hold enough food for the number of guests the château can accommodate. The other working fridges are in the party hall across the courtyard, which makes them impractical when you're cooking in the château. There was hardly any crockery or cutlery, and the pantry had a jumble of dishes that were supposedly off limits. If the area isn't meant to be used, it should be cleared and tidied. More cooking utensils and cleaning products would help too, especially for guests coming from overseas who can't bring their own supplies. You can't rely on the caterer to cover the whole weekend. One practical tip for anyone renting the venue: photograph any marks or damage in the areas you'll use during the pre-event inspection. Recording the walkthrough can help you remember the condition of everything. Even with those issues, the wedding weekend was magical. The grounds and Chateau Laplaud are beautiful and whimsical, the setting was dazzling, the catering was perfect, and the party area was great. We were lucky to have the weather for an outdoor ceremony, and it was lovely to be able to accommodate quite a few guests on the grounds. The château could be styled to suit the bride and groom, and we brought family and friends together from around the world. There are several options for the wedding service, and I'd recommend it for a once-in-a-lifetime event. Just check the kitchen first if you plan to stay and feed guests over a weekend.
