The metro was close by, though the neighborhood felt shady. Inside, the rooms weren’t very clean and had an old cigarette smell. We saw a woman screaming and breaking things when we arrived, but we didn’t have any of the bad experiences other guests described. Skip breakfast. You can get much better food in the city.

The metro is right nearby, but the neighborhood isn’t somewhere I wanted to hang around. The room smelled strongly of old cigarettes, and the brown carpets looked like something I wouldn’t want to walk on barefoot. The bathroom soap had an industrial smell, so bring your own. It was cold, and the air conditioner gave no heat when I set it to warm. I ended up trying to sleep in my coat, but the mattress was so unstable and crooked, with some broken springs, that I couldn’t really manage it. Breakfast was a joke, with better coffee and a pastry available for the same price almost anywhere. On the third night, my key wouldn’t open the door because it hadn’t been configured properly. Luckily, someone in the restaurant fixed it since reception was closed.

The dirtiest place I’ve ever stayed. There were bed bugs too. If I had to choose between this place and sleeping at a railway station next time, I’d pick the station.
