It was the people who made the stay so pleasant, from the front desk and housekeeping to the bar and restaurant teams. The front office manager who checked me in and Plamédie were especially attentive, with Plamédie sorting out my dilemma. The two barmen in the morning also gave wonderful service. The hotel is nice and quiet, with a great view; essential services are nearby, the city center is only minutes away, and the RE station is close by. I'll definitely return. Thanks for making my stay such a good one.

I picked this hotel mainly because the price was reasonable and public transport connections were excellent. Gare du Nord is about 20 minutes away on Metro line 5. The rooms are small in this fairly new property, and there are plenty of restaurants nearby, so I didn't bother with breakfast. Staff were consistently cheerful and friendly, which made conversations pleasant. Some practical things were frustrating. When a big group checks in ahead of you, the single reception desk can make the wait quite long. The bathroom toiletries were confusing, and the body wash was empty throughout my three-night stay. The room had a water bottle when I arrived, but it was already half empty, so I didn't trust it and bought mineral water from the shop across the street. The layout also felt poorly thought out. The toilet is in its own cubicle, with a sink but no hook or rail for a towel. After washing my hands, I had to cross over to the bathroom to dry them. Or I could wait until I got there to wash them, which is an odd setup.

I don't usually leave reviews, but I want other guests to know what happened. During my winter stay the room was cold the whole time, even though it was very cold outside. The heating barely worked. I asked the front desk more than three times to check it, and each time they said the heat had been turned off for my room, that they'd changed the settings, and it should be working now. Nothing improved, and I stayed cold throughout. The hot water was often only lukewarm, then failed completely throughout the hotel on my last day. Nobody could shower, and guests were queuing at the desk to complain. Staff said they were doing their best and a technician would come later that afternoon, which didn't help those of us who needed to go out that day. I asked about a discount and was told they could offer one, but I should come back later because the manager wasn't there. I spent over an hour traveling back to the hotel, which is far from the city center, only to be firmly told they would not give me a discount and had never said one was possible. They also said I should have raised these problems during my stay, even though I'd already brought them up several times. The staff's manner also felt unfriendly and unwelcoming. One person at reception was repeatedly cold and dismissive. On New Year's Day morning I wished him “Bonne année,” and he answered with a cold “bonjour,” ignoring my greeting. That might sound small, but it added to the feeling of poor hospitality. For comparison, I stayed at three other hotels on the same trip, and they were all warm in both room temperature and welcome. With no proper heating, unreliable hot water, mixed messages, and poor service, I strongly recommend reconsidering a stay here.

I liked how spacious, modern, and comfortable the rooms were, and the staff were friendly. I left another hotel nearer town because the staff there were extremely difficult, the rooms tiny, and everything dated. This place is outside Paris, but an Uber to the center was a straightforward 20 minutes. I found the metro and public transport in Paris terrible, so if you're looking for a hotel like this, an Uber is probably how you'll get around. The neighborhood is quiet, quaint, and free of sirens, with the usual local restaurants, shops, and laundromats. The courtyard and lobby are nice places to hang out. The Wi-Fi was also.
