Hotel Aida Marais

For the price, the location was good, with easy access to the train station and metro and lots of interesting shops and restaurants nearby. The room and bathroom were clean. The first receptionist I met was really friendly and suggested local restaurants I loved, though the other staff weren't as warm. My room faced the inner courtyard, which got noisy in the morning and late at night. One receptionist kept taking calls on speaker late at night, so I had to shut the window and the room got stuffy.

My so-called "deluxe room with a view" had no window to the outside. It looked onto the hotel lobby and smelled strongly of air freshener. I stayed one night and coughed for days afterward. Before sending me up a winding flight of stairs, the receptionist described it as "a few steps." I felt they lie as part of how they do business. The stay was unpleasant and low-class in general, including having to be buzzed in every time I came back to the hotel. And despite the "Le Marais" in the name, it's in the 10th, near Republique / Gare du Nord, not actually in Le Marais. Rotten experience all around.

The room was small, though that's Paris, and the bathroom was large by Paris standards. It was quiet, clean, and the breakfast was decent. With plenty of metro lines nearby, the location is good. For a 3 star hotel in Paris, I think the price and quality are a fair match. You're not in Paris to spend all your time in the room anyway.

I didn't like it. The room was tiny for what they charged, and at night there was so much noise from people in the hotel. Something kept falling, and it was hard to sleep.
