Hotel Antin Saint-Georges

We had to leave two nights early because the room was infested with bedbugs. The elevator was out of order for most of our stay, and when we decided to go, no one showed any concern or even reminded us about the bedbugs. The staff were incredibly rude, arrogant, and unhelpful. It was a terrible experience.

The room was so cramped that there was barely space for our luggage, and the floor looked dirty. We even found an empty bottle and a used napkin under the bed. The bathroom was about as small as the bedroom and had no shower curtain, so water sprayed all over the floor every time we showered. It was a real slipping hazard. We paid about €150 a night for five nights after seeing the attractive photos and the location near train and bus stops. The shared dining room was closed outside breakfast hours and looked nothing like the promotional pictures. The TV wouldn’t turn on either. There was no air conditioning or minibar, and the only floor fan was broken. With daytime temperatures hitting 95 °F (35 °C), we had to leave the window wide open for relief. The bathroom soap dispenser was less than half full, and the room had only two electrical outlets, so we had to take turns charging our devices. For that price, we’d have been better off in a budget hostel with cleaner, more comfortable rooms. It felt like a complete waste of money and a huge disappointment. We wouldn’t stay again and would strongly advise other travelers to look elsewhere.

The hotel is conveniently close to the metro and Montmarte, where young locals go to eat. One concierge who checked me in was nasty and sarcastic, and often seemed to be taking a break at the restaurant. The other staff were more helpful. Breakfast cost an extra 12 euro and wasn’t worth it.

There were visible bedbugs on the headboard when we got into the room. The manager refused to speak with us in person, and the assistant manager denied our refund request because of the “non-refundable policy.” They should understand that, under French law, when a service isn’t delivered as promised, for example, no bedbugs, a customer is entitled to a refund and the policy is void. They offered another room, but if there are bedbugs in one room, they’ll travel to every room. They clearly don’t acknowledge that.
