The suite was spotless, the bed was comfortable, and the Art Deco style looked lovely. We booked four hours at Le VIP Paris to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday. The staff were nice, and we enjoyed the private spa and jacuzzi. There was a projector by the jacuzzi that made the space feel extra relaxing. The bathroom was small, but fine for a short visit. The view was a real letdown. We expected the Seine, or at least something to look at, but our windows faced a concrete wall for the whole stay, so we kept the curtains shut. The electric candles were all dead too, which made it impossible to have the candlelit atmosphere we’d hoped for. We paid for a charcuterie board. It was good quality, though a little pricey, and the bread was rock hard until the staff kindly replaced it. The bigger problem was losing about an hour getting things ready. The spa wasn’t on when we arrived and the jacuzzi was empty, so we had to get settled, work out how to fill the jacuzzi, and wait for the spa to warm up. That left us with only about three hours to relax. For a four-hour day stay, I think the service needs rethinking. We still enjoyed ourselves, but it felt expensive for the level of service. It might be more worthwhile for an overnight stay.

We had a lovely anniversary evening taking in Paris at night from the water. Our table on the ship had a great view as we went along the Seine, and they sang for us and the other people celebrating special occasions. The atmosphere on board was nice, and the food was good. I had veal, my husband chose smoked salmon, and we both liked our meals and desserts. Service was slow and inattentive, though. I’d booked the dinner cruise online the night before, and the ship was farther out than I’d expected. That turned into a chance to see more of Paris on the way there. How we ended up choosing a floating hotel when I don’t know Paris very well is another story!

The food was delicious and presented really well, and the music and singer made the dinner cruise especially romantic. We celebrated a birthday anniversary on VIP Paris without staying overnight, and it was a very good experience overall. There was some confusion about whether high water might send the cruise away from the main sights, but everything turned out well. I do think the start time should be adjusted for summer sunsets, at least 30 minutes later, so guests can see the Eiffel Tower lights.

I came aboard for a cruise and had a great meal. It wasn’t too crowded. The rules felt a bit rigid, and it was hard to figure out how things worked because no one was there to explain.

I rarely leave bad reviews, and this is my first, so that says how bad the experience felt. The boat moved slowly most of the time, but sped up around the Eiffel Tower. I thought that might be so we’d be on time for the lights shown in their picture. It wasn’t, though. They went back to the starting point and parked. The service was awful. We asked for help three times while the boat was still empty, and the server rolled his eyes. He was on his phone, and we felt like we were making him do his job. After we ordered, we had to ask three times to be served. Then they switched our server because he didn’t like us. There were other problems too, but I don’t want to keep writing. Avoid this place and spend your money somewhere better.
