The staff were really friendly, and our room was clean. The hotel is in a quiet neighborhood within walking distance of the Eiffel Tower. I'd gladly stay here again if I return to Paris, and would recommend it.

We arrived late at night and I said “Good evening.” The receptionist replied “Bonsoir.” We put our passports on the counter, but he kept looking at his computer as if we weren't there. After about 20 seconds, I said, “Hello, we'd like to check in?” He stood up and shouted, “I AM NOT YOUR SLAVE!!!! YOU WILL HAVE TO WAIT!!! WE HAVE A TECHNICAL ISSUE!!! SIT OVER THERE AND WAIT!!!” Later he attacked my personality verbally, called me “rude,” and said he would refuse to check us in. He even came around the counter and threatened me. I said I would call the police, and only then did he check us in. I was scared about spending three nights there when he had a master key and could enter our room. I also worried about what might happen while our room was being cleaned. The other younger male staff were very nice and efficient when we passed through the lobby and at checkout. I’m sharing photos to be fair to them. This complaint is specifically about that receptionist. Before booking, I had already seen lots of negative comments, especially about the service. I didn't expect anything spectacular given the level of hotel I'd booked, and I used to wonder if maybe those guests were asking too much. Turns out, I think the comments were right. Is it too much to expect normal human interaction? The hotel likes to argue back against negative comments online, which may be a red flag. I work in hospitality, especially front office, and I think management must know about his issues and be ignoring them. Or maybe he is the manager, in which case the owner should reconsider. I'm not taking this comment or the photos down. Consumers have a right to know. They can take legal action if they want; I'm not afraid to show my full name. They can check the CCTV and see I'm telling the truth. I won't come back to France. To the person reading this: thanks for giving me my first impression of French people. I hope you're happy representing French tourism.

The main thing that stayed with me was how handy the location is. Step outside and the Eiffel Tower is there; it's about a 20 minute walk, with several metro stations nearby for getting across the city. The room was spacious, with a comfortable bed, good shower pressure, and air conditioning. There was a kettle, and when I asked for a fridge, they brought one up. Since we booked without breakfast so we could try French products, that fridge came in useful. Staff were responsive and the room was cleaned very well. I could hear neighbors singing and having sex, so the soundproofing isn't good. Still, I spent most of my time walking around Paris and fell asleep as soon as I got back, even when there was noise. The hairdryer seemed to overheat and shut off until it cooled, though it was so hot in Paris that I didn't use it anyway. From the reviews I read while choosing, I expected Paris hotels to be expensive, with small rooms and modest, repetitive breakfasts, so I knew I'd have to compromise. I'd happily stay here again if I get back to Paris. Thanks to the staff for making the stay comfortable and pleasant.

A lot of places to eat nearby, and Dupleix metro station is an easy walk for exploring the city. The staff were courteous and helpful, and they can store your luggage if needed. Tap water is free to drink. The rooms are compact but clean and well kept, with a kettle and hairdryer, and I found the stay comfortable. The big draw is how close the hotel is to the Eiffel Tower, where you can catch its dazzling five minute light show every hour.

The location is excellent, and the staff were polite and helpful. But room 416 was small, and its bed was only 140cm wide, not even 160cm, which was disappointing. The bathroom sink was also really low and awkward to use. We paid about 600 euros for three nights in mid June.
