Its cobbled lanes, ivy-covered homes, colorful fronts, and preserved architecture make it a lovely place to wander and take photos. The neighborhood was built in the early 20th century to provide affordable homes for workers, and it has kept a peaceful, picturesque feel. It’s worth respecting that calm while visiting, since people live here. Keep noise down and don’t leave litter. This small corner shows another side of Paris and offers a pleasant break from the busy streets, whether you’re interested in its history or just enjoying the scenery.

A handful of streets near Porte de Bagnolet in Paris’s 20th arrondissement make up La Campagne à Paris. Walking through them feels like leaving the busy city for the French countryside. The area drew more attention after the French film Le Petit Nicolas used it almost like another character, with petit Nicolas and his family living on Rue Irenée Blanc.
