Hipotel Paris Sacre Coeur Olympiades

For the money, it was good. Our room was very basic, but clean and freshly painted, and the toilet and bathroom looked newly done. It suits you if you’re on a budget and just want somewhere to sleep and leave your things. The centre is nearby, around 25 minutes from the Louvre and the other attractions.

We were pleasantly surprised after checking in, especially since I’d seen so many negative reviews. The room was spotless, and the toilet and bathroom had clearly been renovated and were spotless too. It’s small, but there’s lots of daylight from two big windows overlooking very French narrow streets. Simplon metro station is just a few steps away, supermarkets are around the corner, and the popular Sacre Cœur is within walking distance. The staircase looks a bit rough, but at this price I care more about the room. We’re very happy with it. It’s just right for sleeping at night and heading out to explore Paris during the day.

The only thing I liked was that the hotel is right by a subway stop. I stayed four days in July 2013, and the room was ugly, the mattress uncomfortable, and there were roaches. I found around ten on the first day. The receptionists were unfriendly and didn’t speak English. It was fairly cheap for Paris, around 40€ for a double room, but go elsewhere if you can. The hotel was disgusting.

The staff were really nice, and although we’d booked a shared bathroom room, he put us in one with a private bathroom, which was great. The room was about what you’d expect for the price and could have been cleaner. There was no TV or other appliances, but that didn’t bother us since we only went back to sleep. I’d choose somewhere else if I planned to spend much time in the hotel. The elevator was out of order, so we had to walk up to the fifth floor every time. Even so, we had a pretty good stay.
