Hôtel Beaugrenelle Saint Charles

The hotel said afterward that a leak downstairs meant they needed to inspect our room. Even so, that doesn't explain what happened around 10:40 PM: a staff member pounded aggressively on our door, demanded we open it, and gave no clear reason. We felt unsafe. Then he tried using a hotel key to get into the occupied room while we were inside, so we held the door shut and called the police. They came and told us that forcing entry like that was illegal. We were frightened and no longer felt safe staying there, so we checked out. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone concerned about safety, privacy, or professional management.

The metro and the walk to the Eiffel Tower are what would bring me back. It's a small, charming hotel, and the rooms have enough space for you and your bags, no more than you need. I also loved the old elevator and the lobby couch, which looks like it's seen years of visitors.

The hotel was clean and comfortable, and Diana Zucker was so dedicated and helpful. She helped me get my lost headphone back, which I really appreciated. Such a great experience, thanks so much!

We got around Paris easily from here: the metro is right across the street, and we walked to the Eiffel Tower a couple of times despite doing about 20k steps a day. The Louvre, Notre Dame, the Tower, and plenty more were simple to reach. There are also loads of restaurants around the corner, and the hotel itself was clean and comfortable. We stayed three nights and enjoyed how quiet it was. At first the room seemed tiny, but we adjusted quickly and it caused no problems. Room 504 had working air conditioning, with the thermostat going down to 19C, plus windows that opened and a little balcony to look out from. The shower had hot water and excellent pressure. We'd happily recommend staying here if you want a comfortable base with convenient city access.
