Hotel Du Dragon

The room was plain, but it had everything we needed, and we could easily walk to plenty of popular sights. There’s good food all around, and breakfast was excellent, as was the coffee you can have throughout the day. Just know the street stays busy and lively nearly around the clock, so it’s not the place for a quiet stay.

The WiFi on the third floor didn’t work, and the rooms and hotel itself are tiny. If you want breakfast, you have to tell reception the day before. The same goes for having coffee or tea. Nobody told us when we arrived, so I only found out when I saw the sign by the coffee machine. I asked very politely for a first floor room because I have a leg problem and find stairs difficult. I’d read the comments about this issue, and the staff were very attentive and kind about it. They gave me a room on the fourth floor anyway! If you have no other option in this area, you could stay here. Otherwise, find somewhere better.

There’s a lot of charm here, and the staff are very friendly. The location is great for exploring Paris. The rooms are tiny, though very clean and nicely kept. The stairs are narrow and uneven, like you’d expect in an older Parisian building, and there’s no lift. If you have mobility problems, I wouldn’t stay here.

I was told during my stay that my invoice would be emailed to me, but despite repeated assurances, it never arrived. I’ve followed up by email several times and heard nothing back, and there’s no phone number where I can reach them. This is especially disappointing for business travelers who need proper documentation. I expected the hotel to be more reliable and responsive.
