Georgette Hotel

The location is the one good thing about this hotel, since it’s close to just about everything you’d want to see or do in Paris. But I couldn’t sleep: there’s a bar or café on the ground floor, and the soundproofing is poor. The loud bass vibrates through the rooms until 1 or 2 AM, and staff won’t do anything about it. You also have to pass through the bar whenever you come or go. The mattress is old, broken, and squeaks when you shift; the pillow is unusually small and uncomfortable. There’s no kettle or iron, and bottled water was provided only on the first night. The TV seems straight out of the early 2000s, is tiny, and has no streaming services. There’s a constant sewage smell in the lobby from the café kitchen at the back, and no seating there. In the morning, the shower water is only lukewarm. Given the hotel’s condition, I’m puzzled by its four stars. Avoid it if you need to sleep.

The location is top tier, and all the staff were helpful and kind. The room was a little small and short on closet space, but I’d definitely recommend the place.

There’s a City Tax charged per day, which is annoying, though apparently standard in Europe. I wasn’t sure what to expect from a restaurant and hotel together, and wondered if it might be a scam, since this is Paris. Turns out it was an excellent choice. The rooms were great, the beds comfortable, and the bathroom was ELITE. My wife loved it, which confirmed it for me, us guys will sleep in a box anyway. The staff were excellent, and the location was great.

The staff were amazing, and I had a really pleasant stay. It’s easy to get around on foot, with plenty of restaurants close by. The café food was tasty and fairly priced. The room was small but had everything I needed. I’d recommend it.
