Hôtel La Nouvelle République & Hammam

We liked the hotel so much that after our first night, which we booked through hotel tonight, we extended our stay and switched rooms for the rest of the week because the first one was already booked. Both rooms were spotless. The staff were incredibly helpful and gracious, always ready to do a little extra with a great attitude. They speak multiple languages. There’s free coffee, hot chocolate, and tea in the lobby around the clock. Besides an open wework area, there’s a really cool retro lounge where you can hang out and play records on the turntable. It’s handy for two Metro stations and a bus that goes straight to Notre Dame. There are lots of grocery stores and little shops nearby, plus late-night restaurants and bars around the corner in a fun, residential neighborhood that doesn’t feel touristy. We’d definitely stay again.

The transport connections were easy and excellent, just as promised. Thank you, Google Maps, for the directions! My wife and I really enjoyed our week at La Nouvelle République. Our room at the front of the building was clean, spacious, and delightfully quiet. The bed was huge, firm, and very comfortable. The bathroom had plenty of space, and the shower had strong pressure and got as hot as anyone could want. Reception staff were friendly, helpful, and fluent in English. Great value for money.

There’s a lift, and we were on the sixth floor. The room was comfortable, clean, and had blackout blinds that helped us sleep. They cleaned it daily, and the water in the room was topped up each day, which was nice. The shower was brilliant, hot and powerful. The hotel is cute and inexpensive, in an interesting area with plenty of good, affordable places to eat and drink. I liked the location: there’s a bus stop around the corner, a boulangerie at the end of the street, and lots of bars, cafes, and restaurants within a few minutes’ walk. A few things could be better. The coffee machine worked only about half the week, there wasn’t always enough toilet roll, and the room’s kettle socket didn’t work. When we arrived, we were confused to be told there was no bar, even though there’s one with bottles and glasses. The guy checking us in said they don’t serve drinks. Thanks very much for our stay.

The rooms were nice, the beds very comfortable, and the bathroom was beautiful. But what really stood out was how polite and friendly everyone was, from check-in through checkout. I especially want to thank Ryan for being professional, courteous, and so helpful. I had a wonderful stay at this hotel in the heart of Paris, and I’ll definitely return on my next trip.
