Hôtel Le Carrosse

When I checked out, I asked to leave one small bag until 2 p.m., but was told storage was only possible until noon and I’d have to pay after that. I’ve stayed at much better, cleaner hotels in Paris that didn’t charge for this. Another couple of issues: the towel they left was tiny, and the bathroom light ran on a motion detector. I couldn’t switch it on myself and had to keep moving to stop it going out. Maybe there was a way to change the setting, but nobody explained it and there were no instructions. The room was small and shabby, with old furniture, and I wasn’t expecting luxury. But it was filthy, which I can’t excuse. The bed was covered in hair, clearly not just one or two loose strands, and it was obvious the sheets hadn’t been cleaned. The rug by the bed was dirty, the bed cover was stained, the chair was disgusting, as shown in the attached photos, and the room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. Renovations are one thing, but cleanliness is basic. This was unacceptable and a huge disappointment. By far my worst hotel experience in Paris. Don’t stay here.

This is my second time staying here for Paris Games Week, which I come to every year. The location is amazing, right in front of the Port de Versailles exhibition building, with nice restaurants and public transport nearby. The room is always clean and warm, and the staff are always friendly and helpful.

I haven’t stayed at the hotel, so this is only about the parcel pick-up service. The owner went well out of their way to help me sort out a problem caused by UPS. I really appreciated it, especially during the summer period when opening hours are limited. Thanks!

For the price, this was a great little hotel for retroMobil. The staff were kind, the room was clean, and the shower stayed warm.
