Hotel Le Colisee

My father died on February 13. I sent Hotel Colisée his death certificate and ICU records, but their answer was still no. I had booked a room for February 13, with free cancellation available until February 11. On the morning of February 12, my father was rushed to the ICU. Within hours, a full 24 hours before check-in, I emailed the hotel and Booking.com to explain the emergency and ask to cancel. The room could easily have been resold. They replied with words of “sympathy” and then hid behind the “non-refundable” policy. They refused a full refund, a partial refund, or even credit for a future stay. They never confirmed whether they resold the room that night. If they did, they collected double payment. If they didn't, they had no loss, yet kept my money anyway. When someone has an unavoidable family tragedy and cancels a full day before arriving, any decent hotel would show some flexibility. Hotel Colisée chose profit over compassion. They offered lip service and took the money. This isn't a policy, it's greed, with no humanity, morality, or responsibility. Heartless, profit-driven, and utterly shameful. Travellers, be warned: here, “non-refundable” means they keep your money even if your parent dies hours after the deadline. They do not care. They never did. Shame on you. I will never set foot here, and neither should you.

The location was the one good thing about this place. We were given a tiny attic room, and they refused when we asked to switch. It was old, the bathroom sink was clogged, and they didn't refill the shampoo or shower gel. I asked reception for two extra laundry bags and got only one. Honestly, disappointing.

The location was great, but the rooms were so small there was nowhere for a suitcase, let alone a pram and baby. We almost couldn't get the pram into the elevator or along the hallways. It wasn't worth the money at all!!!

The location is great and the hotel is clean. The room was a bit small, but that's normal for Paris. Yassin and Chris were especially attentive and helpful, and thanks to them our time in Paris was truly enjoyable.
