Hotel Le Presbytère

Miguel was an incredible host, so kind, thoughtful, and helpful. Jeremy was also very kind on our last day. Le Presbytere made a charming, clean home base for our Paris visit, with all the amenities we could want. It's perfectly situated in Le Marais and gave us a fantastic base for experiencing Paris. We'll easily return on our next visit.

The only drawback for us was having no elevator. The hotel made this clear in advance and were happy to help with luggage, though climbing to our third floor room after a long day in Paris could still be tiring. Le Presbytère is small but feels luxurious, with unique, beautifully designed rooms that were spotless, cozy, and plush. It's wonderfully placed in the middle of lively Le Marais, yet feels peaceful as soon as you step inside. The staff were all friendly, especially Jérémy, who was so kind to my 8 year old daughter when she decided he was her friend. We had breakfast one morning and were impressed by how generous it was, especially since children eat free. I'd wholeheartedly recommend it for a safe, clean, charming stay in a great location.

The staff were exceptionally friendly and always made us feel welcome when we came back from our outings. They gave us great advice on local restaurants, French customs, and taxi service. The hotel is very centrally located, with easy Metro access and fairly short walks to most of the sites and activities we wanted to see. It's a uniquely charming historic building, and our room had flying buttresses and sturdy wood beams across the ceiling. There's no elevator, but the staff cheerfully carried our heavy luggage up and down the spiral stairs, and helped with it before check-in and after check-out. The bed was very comfortable and it was quiet enough to rest well. The bathroom was fully modernized, with a glass shower, hot water that came quickly, and electric towel heaters.

Miguel was incredibly sweet and accommodating. He changed the experience for me, and deserves 7/5 stars. I arrived in a rush for a meeting and left my 6-7 pieces of luggage at reception, planning to get them later. When I returned, Miguel had carried everything up to my top-floor suite, even though he was the only receptionist working. That must have meant several exhausting trips up and down the stairs with very heavy bags. Such great service. The beds are comfortable and everything works. The location is fantastic, and breakfast is delivered to your bed, which is nice, though limiting if you haven't ordered enough. The hotel is in a historic building with no elevator, and reception is on the 2nd floor, with three more floors above it. We were in the big suite at the very top, so it was quite a climb. The only limitation is having to use the stairs. The hotel should hire more staff to help with luggage. That should be standard at these prices for a walk-up hotel. If the luggage issue weren't a problem for guests, the experience would be even better.
