Hotel Riesner

That deep bathtub was my favorite after long days of traveling and sightseeing. We stayed on the fifth floor for two nights on our way to the alps, and there was enough room for four, with a king bed, a twin, and a twin pull-out chair. Hotel Riesner had excellent staff and service. Breakfast worked well both for eating in and for taking on the go. The coffee was very good, and I loved the tea selection.

The staff were lovely, and the elevator came in handy. But the best part was the bed, the softest and most comfortable hotel bed I've slept in, with a big fluffy duvet. I had such a great stay and would absolutely come back. Thank you!

The rooms were especially nice, with a modern look, a large screened TV, an updated bathroom, a safe, kettle, tea, and a Cafes Richard coffee machine. Service and location were great too. We did have one concern: although there's an A/C control panel in the room, the hotel controls the settings. If you get cold, you'll need to add layers, and if you get hot, you'll have to open the window.

We booked a standard double, which uses space efficiently, as you'd expect in Paris. We generally kept our suitcases closed to make room for two. The bathroom was a good size, especially the full shower with its rain shower head. The bed was comfortable, and barely any street noise came through, so we slept well. The lobby also has water, coffee, and tea available anytime. The team made the stay feel easy from the start. Reception were attentive and helpful. They let us keep butter in the hotel fridge to take home, then had it ready in a cute gift bag with a little tag at checkout. Housekeeping tidied our room and refilled the water carafe daily, and it was lovely to come back to a freshly made bed. We had an early flight, but they also offer free luggage storage if you want to spend time in Paris before check-in or after checkout. We saw people relaxing in the hotel lounge before leaving, and nobody seemed to be pushing them out. It's an easy walk to Bastille, Gare d'Austerlitz, and Gare de Lyon metro stations. Bastille is a pleasant walk too, with restaurants, bars, cafés, and more along the way. Most popular sights are only a few metro stops away, while the stay costs less than in the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd. We had a great time and will definitely return.
