Hotel Verneuil

I could walk to most places I needed to reach in 10-15 minutes, and the Louvre is 11 minutes away. The room was quiet, clean, and comfortable, and its layout and size pleasantly surprised me. I booked the one listed as “a small room”; it was perfect for one person and perhaps two. I've stayed in much smaller rooms in Europe. The front desk staff member, whose name I regret not remembering, was welcoming, polite, and professional. A welcome note and two pieces of gourmet chocolate were waiting in the room, and the free minibar was a nice touch. The Express breakfast was sufficient, but the larger Buffet wasn't worth the extra cost, and neither were the eggs at an additional charge. I'd definitely stay again when I'm in this area of Paris.

The bedrooms are small, the bathrooms are big, and it's quiet. Ask for a high room in winter, since they're less expensive and you're not spending all your time in your room while in Paris. It's a romantic hotel, steps from some of the best places in the city. At 7A, get coffee at Cafe Marley outside the Lourve and watch the cops chase the bums out. Your waiter can tell you how to enter the Lourve through the employee entrance instead of waiting in line at the pyramid a few steps from the café. Tip well for the next guest.

Special touches made our stay extra nice, including chocolates as a gift for my birthday. The reception staff were so helpful, and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented. It was a perfect base for exploring, without too many tourists around. Such a fabulous hotel, with a mix of modern elegance and classic Parisian style. Thanks so much, we'll be back soon.

I was on my own and booked a tiny room, but they upgraded me. The place was immaculately clean, and the free minibar and complimentary chocolate were nice touches. The location was great, and I felt completely safe walking around the area by myself. A really lovely hotel, exactly what I needed.
